Free Diet Newsletter : March 2002

ISSUE 5 MARCH 2002

I well and truly believe that spring has come early this year. The gardens are a riot of yellow daffodils and there is definite warmth in the sun. More daylight hours makes the thought of exercise slightly more bearable; I really don’t mind going out when it is still light. This month sees Mothers Day and Easter and for many of us this means being surrounded by tempting boxes of chocolates and Easter Eggs – both occasions being a dieter’s nightmare. Plead for non-edible pressies such as homemade cards, flowers or a voucher for a beauty treatment and make the kids hide their Easter Eggs way out of your reach.

Good Luck

Regards

Ronny

HOW TO GET MORE ENERGY!

 Eat as much natural, fresh and unprocessed food as you can. Our metabolic rate can decrease if we eat foods full of additives which interfere with the way nutrients and oxygen are carried to our bodies cells.
 Eat plenty of foods rich in fibre. Fibre encourages efficient bowel movements, which prevents constipation and the feelings of sluggishness.
 Eat regularly to keep the blood sugar levels stable.
 Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins.
 Get enough sleep – the amount needed varies for everyone but an average is 7.5 hours.
 Start the day with a good breakfast of high fibre bread, cereal and fruit to get your metabolism going.
 Get plenty of fresh air. Try to take a brisk walk at lunchtimes or keep a window open at work or at home.
 Try yoga or t’ai chi (chi means energy).

LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT EVEN TRYING
(OK, it’s just an illusion and will only work for women)

If you are pear shaped, steer clear of loose fitting dresses and skirts that only add bulk. Try a simple shift dress that skims over the hips. Wear a bright cardigan if you want to disguise your arms.

If you have a large bust, avoid loose double-breasted jackets, I know they are back in fashion but they are not a flattering shape. A sharply tailored single-breasted jacket is a much more flattering shape.

If you have big thighs try maxi length jackets in the same fabric as loose fitting drawstring trousers. Add a bright T-shirt underneath.

Hide a round tummy by wearing an empire line dress. These flare out gently from the bust and skim over the tummy.

Liposuction – The facts.

Liposuction seems a dream come true – a surgeon will remove unwanted bulges and areas of fat, but is it suitable for anyone who can afford it?

Liposuction can help the following,

Men who have accumulations of fat over the breasts.
People who have lost a considerable amount of weight but are still having problems with localised fat that won’t budge.
Women who accumulate fat around their thighs, hips, saddlebags.
Men who have love handles above the hips.

The most common areas that are treated for women are: thighs, hips, buttocks, stomach and under the chin. For men it is: around the waist, the love handle region, male breasts and under the chin.

The surgery consists of filling the unwanted fat deposits with a tumescent solution of salt water, adrenaline and anaesthetic. Tiny incisions are then made in the skin and a narrow tube is inserted and suction applied. The tube is pushed and pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out.

After surgery fluid will continue to flow from the incisions. You may have to wear a compression garment like a girdle to control the swelling and help the skins mould to its new contours. There will probably be some pain, burning, swelling, bleeding and even a temporary numbness in the area. Generally you can expect to return to work within a week of the surgery.

You will have to have follow-up visits to your surgeon to monitor progress. Improvement in your figure will be complete after approximately 6 weeks.

Possible side effects could include bruising, swelling, temporary numbness, pigmentation change and discomfort.
